 My First changing the tire

Although the first time I changed the tire was many years ago, I can still remember the details that time.

My family and I flew from Seattle to Anchorage Alaska, arrived at Anchorage at one o'clock midnight, then I rented a car from airport. I had to arrive Seward before seven o'clock, so I had to drive the car all night. Suddenly, the tire warning lamp started to flash when we left the city and were driving along the mountain road. There wasn’t moonlight and few cars on the road. I wanted to find a safe place to stop the car. After about 200 meters, I found a safe parking zone, stopped the car and opened the double flash light. Darkness was around me, I didn't know where I was. I told my wife and son that we must pay attention to the passing vehicles.

I had never changed a car tire, even though I had been driving for 10 years.I didn't know where the spare tire was, nor where the tools were? Fortunately my son found the spare tire and tools in the trunk. We started to change tire together, my wife held the light of the mobile phone and we used the jack to elevate the car off the ground. This required some strength because the car was very heavy. Using the lug nut wrench, we removed all of the lug nuts from the wheel. This is the most difficult step  because some of the lug nuts were stuck. After I had taken off the lug nuts, I removed the flat tire and replaced it with spare tire. I screwed the lug nuts back onto the wheel and made sure that they are tightly fastened. Finally, I lowered the car back down to the ground. I checked one last time to make sure that the nuts are as tight as possible. When I completed these steps, I was back on the road in no time.

In the dark night, there were almost no cars passing by on the mountain road. When we were about to finish, there was a car coming face to face, a young male driver stopped and asked me if I needed help; several minutes later there was an SUV coming from behind us, a  middle-age female driver stopped and asked my wife if she needed help. WeWe thanked them forbravely stoppedstopping their car, and enthusiastically helpedhelping strangers, period here, then new sentience I was very touched.

This was my first experience of changing tire, which happened on the road not far from Anchorage, Alaska, USA.
